Stella Rose Petrus

     Stella R. Petrus, 100, of Westwood Lane, Middletown, wife of the late Stanley J. Petrus passed away on June 26, 2012 at Apple Rehab in Cromwell.

     She was born in Middletown on December 22, 1911, daughter of the late Frank and Stella R. (Pieprznick) Rogala. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Rosary Society, past president of the Polish Knights Auxiliary, past president of the St. Mary’s Lady’s Guild, and member of the Council of Catholic Women. Stella and Stanley met while they were members of the St. Mary’s church choir, and they were both very involved in activities at the church for many years. Stella has been a parishioner of St. Pius X church in recent years.

     She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anne Marie and John W. Corbett, Jr. of Middletown, with whom she resided, a grandson, Michael J. Corbett, his wife Cynthia, and their children, Gabrielle and Donald of Pittsfield, MA, and a granddaughter, Amy Corbett Dion, her husband Noah Dion, and their daughter, Samantha of Woodbridge. She thought the world of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Angie Rogala of Kensington, as well as several close nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her two sisters, Mary Rogala and Genevieve Krawczyk and her husband Ned Krawczyk, and three brothers, Stephen Rogala, Joseph Rogala and his wife Mildred, and Walter Rogala and his wife Mary.

     Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m. at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown followed by a 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westfield Street, Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to Our Lady of Angels Infirmary, 1315 Enfield Street, Enfield Ct. 06082.

     The family is very appreciative of the staff at Apple Rehab, especially Christy and Renee, for the great care and comfort that they have provided during her stay.
